The idea is to provide readers with a designated area inside the John Ryland Library. It is a members-only space where the client can come read books and store it in the shelves so that they can get back to the same book without being worried about it being taken by someone else. The reading dome from the inside has walls made of sandstone and a wooden floor. The structure is inspired by byzantine
architecture which gas pendentives. The square room is connected to a dome shaped ceiling which is made out of stained glass. The book shelves are made out of teak wood and have plenty of storage. The dome is accessible to two people at the same time. There is a circular seating arrangement in the middle with red cushion for comfort of the readers. The mood of the reading space takes inspiration from John Rylands library itself. It has soft mellow lighting coming in from the glass dome that makes it comfortable for the reader’s eyes.

This is what the reading dome when placed inside the libary looks like.
The protagonists are exclusive members of the john Rylands Library. The reading dome is where the members can have privacy and a space to store the books they are interested in. The dome further compliments the architecture of the library and attracts more
readers to become a member at the library.
